What is mother of pearl?
Mother of pearl, known for its iridescent and shimmering quality, is actually made from a natural material that comes from the inner lining of oysters and certain mollusc shells!Â

How are mother of pearl homewares made?
Artisans carve delicate pieces of mother of pearl, which is an extraordinary process with many shapes and sizes required to be cut. These are then individually inlaid onto a wooden frame and glued in intricate patterns. Once this is done, layers of coloured resin are then used to fill around the mother of pearl.

The finished result not just beautiful to look at, but also durable and easy to maintain - simply wipe it down with a damp cloth to keep it looking its best.
